Desktop Jar Cozy

Pattern by: Kaitlyn

You can use this cute desktop jar cozy to hold pens, pencils, crochet hooks, etc. for easy access when you’re working at you’re desk.

Materials:

  • size US I/9 or 5.5mm crochet hook
  • 1 skein bulky (category 5) yarn
  • scissors
  • yarn needle
  • an 8oz widemouth jelly jar

Let’s get started…

  1. ch 5, sl st in 5th ch from hook to form a ring
  2. ch 2, 10 dc in the ring, sl st to first dc (pull tail to tighten the ring if you worked over the tail)
  3. ch 2, 2 dc in each st around, sl st to first dc
  4. ch 2, dc in each st around, sl st to first dc
  5. repeat step 4 for the length of the jar (for added detail, make the cozy long enough to fold down like the cuff of a sock, and secure the layers with a button or other small decoration)
  6. fasten off and weave in the ends

Now you just slip the cozy onto your jar and use it to hold pencils, pens, crochet hooks, craft supplies, art supplies, etc. If you have any questions concerning this pattern, please leave a comment below, and I’ll get back to you as soon as I can. Have fun crocheting! Here is a picture of the cozy I made:
