Quick n’ Easy Baby Hat

Pattern by: Kaitlyn

This pattern is the smallest version of the Basic Hat Knitting Pattern. It fits head with a 17 inch circumference, but the hat will stretch. This hat is such a quick knit, you’ll have it done in just a few hours!

  • 1 skein chunky weight yarn (I used Premier Yarns Serenity Chunky Weight)
  • 16 inch circular needles size US 10
  • scissors
  • large eye yarn needle

Let’s get started…

  1. Cast on 50 stitches and place marker on the right needle
  2. join in the round with a knit stitch, k1, p2, *k2, p2, rep from * around to marker
  3. slm, *k2, p2, rep from * around
  4. continue with 2 by 2 ribbing for 2 inches
  5. slm, k around all of the rows until the hat measures 8 inches
  6. bo off with a long tail for sewing
  7. sew a running stitch across the bo row of the hat and pull tight
  8. weave in your ends

And there you go! You now have a completed baby hat. If you have any questions concerning this pattern, please leave a comment below, and I’ll get back to you as soon as I can. Have fun knitting!

Here’s the hat I made with this pattern:
